The Candy Store. 

Even though this is part of the work done at crankbrothers, it’s worth featuring separately.

The Candy Store - an online custom pedal builder, was an idea that I had during my first year at crankbrothers. Unfortunately at that time, the tech, supply chain, and manpower to build the pedals wasn’t quite ready.

It became one of my last projects before I left the company. However the final version became a kiosk app for use at events and in the crankbrothers showroom at the Laguna Beach headquarters and bike festivals.

It allowed the customer to select either eggbeater or candy pedals and customize them up with colors, titanium parts, and additional accessories. Throughout the build, the weight and total costs would update. Once finished, the customer could even post a photo of their custom creation to their social medias while the system sent a simple work order to the pedal techs who would build the pedals while the customer waited. The app ran on iPads on cell or local networks which was perfect for its debut at the Sea Otter Classic.
